Tyson's best friend has recently dumped him for the popular crowd. Disappointing, yes, but at least Tyson has the elk hunting trip with his grandpa to look forward to. Unfortunately grandpa's health is failing and his parents think it would be best if grandpa were moved into a nursing home and that they cancel the elk hunting trip as they think it will be just too hard on grandpa. Not to mention there have been reports of a vicious grizzly bear on the loose near the sight where they want to hunt in the Grand Tetons. Neither Tyson nor grandpa want to abandon the trip so they make up a story about camping in Idaho, but really take off for elk hunting in the Tetons. Find out what happens to grandpa and Tyson on this hunting trip of a lifetime! Sarah has been crushing on Grant Davis for forever, but she doubts he even knows she's alive. Grant's double turns out to be a palace guard named Thomas who insists she stay in Aurora to impersonate the princess until her planned wedding to the Prince. This book is a mix of science fiction and fantasy with a twist of romance. Sarah is a relatable character finding herself getting more and more immersed in the world of Aurora . Will she ever return to her life as Sarah? Sophie has always known she was destined to be a fairy tale princess . She expects to be sent to the School for Good where young ladies are trained to be princesses in the most famous fairy tales. Her best friend Agatha wants them both to stay in the town where they grew up instead of going to school. Its no wonder they think it is a mistake when Sophie is sent to the School for Evil and Agatha to the School for Good. Agatha works tirelessly to get them back home while Sophie works to try and get the mistake reversed. What they find out is is a surprise to both of them. Will they live happily ever after? One seemingly normal afternoon, every computer in the world goes down. In the following days it becomes clear that there will be no easy fix. Adam lives in a quiet community, but suddenly, a society he thought was so neatly structured completely falls apart as people find themselves in a battle to survive. Adam and his neighbor quickly establish structure in order to defend their small neighborhood as they face increasingly deadly threats to their community's survival. This is a true story written by Mya Vanwagonen who finds an old copy of a book called Betty Cornell's Teen-Aged Popularity Guide originally published in the 1950's. Mya, a self proclaimed geek, decides to try the advice in the book right down to buying a girdle and wearing skirts and pearls to school everyday. Through it all Mya discovers what popularity really means. Many times when reading the book, I was struck by the contrast between the type of life Cornell describes in the 1950's with Mya's life living in Brownsville Texas today. Try this book if you want a true story of a girl who finds her real self by getting out of her comfort zone. This book can be found in the non-fiction section under 921 VAN Yarp Book!
